Deoksugung Palace Stone Wall Road

Once part of the lyrics of a popular Korean song, the road along Deoksugung Palace's stone wall is a favorite dating spot for young couples. There, you'll see them chatting as they walk hand in hand. In fall, the yellow gingko leaves add to the romantic ambience. This road is about 900 meters long and stretches from Deoksugung Palace across from City Hall to the Star Six Theatre. Along the road are numerous cultural facilities that will make your trip even more worthwhile.

The first place to visit is the Seoul Museum of Art. In the garden, there is a 500 year-old maple tree that shows off its spectacular autumnal foliage. You can sit down in the quiet, cozy garden and enjoy the sunlight. If time permits, you may also visit one of the exhibitions at the gallery. After resting, move on to Chongdong Theatre, a permanent theatre for traditional performances, and the theatre of Nanta, a famous Korean non-verbal performance. You may even choose to see a performance. At the end of the road is Star Six Theatre, where you can stop by for a movie.

BIS Restaurant

Located across from Star Six Theatre, this Italian restaurant opened in 1992 and has been in business for over 10 years. The main menu includes spaghetti and risotto, priced between 8,000 and 12,000 won. BIS is housed in a two-story residence with a small garden. While the cuisine is excellent, the pastoral ambience is what attracts many people.
